Working on seasonal harvests is a wonderful way to work your way around Victoria’s Yarra Valley. Home to vineyards, berry farms and orchards set in rolling hills, the Yarra Valley is an hour’s drive from Melbourne and a popular destination for fruit pickers and tourists alike.

The Salvation Army Employment Plus Harvest Labour Services find jobs for backpackers, students, ‘grey nomads’ and school leavers, so if you are thinking of working on a harvest we provide a first point of contact for work in the Yarra Valley. We provide relevant information, a central contact and regular updates on where the jobs are, so make sure you register, it’s completely free of charge!

The main harvest seasons are:

February to April - grapes and lemons
Late February to March - apples
May to August - grape pruning and tree digging
August to May - flowers
October to March - berries
November to January - cherries and berries

In addition, the Yarra Valley produces a range of vegetable crops.
