Mandy
Mandy first came to TSAEP in 2005 when she was 17 and had just been kicked out of home. Her mother had re-married and Mandy was not accepted by her new step father. While Mandy refused our offer to help find emergency accommodation, she told us she was interested in working as a stable hand. Mandy was introduced to one of our consultants who, after speaking to a number of businesses about Mandy’s skills and qualities, secured an interview for the teenager with a well-known horse trainer. Not only was the job a perfect match, but as the job normally includes accommodation her consultant was relived that Mandy would finally have a secure, permanent place to live. After an excellent interview Mandy was offered the job, however there was no accommodation available at that time. So TSAEP organised temporary accommodation near the race track, and assisted her with the rent for one week. After she received her first pay Mandy was able to support herself, and eventually accommodation at the track became available.

Mandy has grown into a hard worker, and says she makes the most of every day at work because she is so grateful to have been offered the opportunity.
