The Salvation Army Employment Plus is excited about the opportunity that the Community Work Coordinator model presents as part of the ‘Work For the Dole’ program. This way of operating allows work experience placements to be tailored to the needs of the unemployed within their local communities.

Requirements of the Community Work Team program are as follows:

Work for the Dole (placement must be over 26 weeks)
Community Work
18-20 year olds – 310 hours
(min 12 hours per week)
18-20 year olds – 200 hours
21-39 year olds – 390 hours
(min 15 hours per week)
21-39 year olds – 240 hours
40-49 year olds – 150 hours
(min 6 hours per week)
40-49 year olds – 240 hours
50+ year olds – 150 hours
(min 6 hours per week)
50+ year olds – no requirement, may volunteer to participate

Bonuses for participants

In recognition for your involvement, you can receive up to $800 in training credits to be spent on recognised training courses and the purchase of appropriately related books/equipment.

You also receive a passport to employment which contains tools to help you with your job search.
