Retail Matters
Assisting with the day to day operations of the TTG and Golden Grove Family Stores, including sorting of clothing and furniture, customer service, store presentation and cash handling.  Internal training in retail and OH & S will be provided.

Bits & Bytes at the Café Oasis
Assisting with the day to day operations of a busy café as well as assisting in the running of an internet café which is situated in the foyer of The Salvation Army at Tea Tree Gully.  This is a busy little café serving home cooked food and beverages.  This activity includes table service, kitchen duties, preparation of cappuccinos and cash handling.  Participants will gain the Safe Food Handling certificate through Regency Hotel School.

Recycled Retail II
This activity is based at The Salvation Army Corp in Ingle Farm and covers retail operations through the thrift shop, which includes sorting of clothing and furniture, store presentation and customer service. 

Location: Cnr of Maxwell & Bridge Road, Ingle Farm.

Modbury Sports Facility Upgrade
This activity covers a wide range of maintenance and gardening experience.  Participants will be involved in planting of trees, painting, building of bench seating, general gardening and upgrading of the clubrooms.

Community Computers
Participants will learn to solder, train in the fundamentals of electronics and robotics, build an LED buzzer and learn PC skills such as MS Windows, scanning, CD burning, and learn to repair and recycle PC’s.  Participants will have the opportunity to gain the ICDL (International Computer Driving Licence). Police check required due to activity being run at an aged care facility.

Helping Hand Native Garden
An area of land will be developed into a landscaped garden to include garden beds and retaining walls for the residents and family members of this aged care facility to enjoy.  Participants will be able to learn a variety of horticultural skills as well as have input into the design and implementation of this project.  It is envisaged in the future that this garden will be included in the ‘open garden scheme’.  A police check is required.

Vinnies Retail Shop Holden Hill
This activity provides retail experience in the Vinnies op shops with experience gained in customer service, cash handling, sorting of clothes and furniture and general store presentation.

Location: St Vincent de Paul Op Shop at Holden Hill

Wynn Vale School Community Project
This activity is based at the Wynn Vale Primary School and will provide work experience in grounds maintenance and Child Care through the Out of School Hours Care.  The Out of School Hours Care hours will be 2:20pm to 6pm during the week and full days during holiday periods. Police Check is required.

Community Care for the Aged at Ridgehaven House
Laundry, cleaning, diversional therapy and gardening/maintenance.  Participants on this activity will gain work experience in the running of a laundry, including some cleaning and using a labelling machine. 2 participants will work with the Diversional Therapist assisting the aged in walks, morning teas, board games, reading, etc. and 1 participant will assist the Gardener in the general maintenance of the gardens and buildings. A Police Check is required.  Commencing Tuesday 11th May, 2004.

Cars for Kids
This is an exciting opportunity for participants to learn the basics of mechanics.  A fully qualified mechanic will supervise the dismantling and rebuilding of cars from a workshop in Holden Hill.  Once the cars have been completed they will then be donated to local children’s charities.  A Police check is not required.  Commencing Monday 10th May, 2004

Lets Type for Lets Talk
This is an exciting opportunity for participants to learn the basics of office administration in a real office environment.  A full-time Office Supervisor will teach participants all the skills required to run and manage an office.  A certificate of competency will be given at the end of the activity as well as references.  Commencing Monday 28th June, 2004.

Lets Plan for Lets Talk
This is another exciting opportunity for participants to learn how to liaise with community groups, plan and execute promotional displays in shopping centres and generally support the Event Coordinator.  This organisation promotes the awareness of alcohol and drug abuse in schools and the local community and how to reduce the uptake.  A certificate of competency will be given at the end of the activity as well as references.  Commencing Monday 6th September, 2004.

Wood ‘n’ Wheels
This activity will teach participants the basics of making small toys to give to community groups as well as rebuilding donated bicycles which will be donated to the disadvantaged.  Participants will learn to do basic woodworking, bicycle maintenance and painting. A completion certificate will be given along with references. Commencing Wednesday 18th August, 2004.
