Work experience is about improving your chances of finding a job. Work experience can create opportunities to network, develop new skills, and maintain and build on existing skills. It is a practical way to connect with your community and to show potential employers what you can do. Work experience activities are available to job seekers who are registered with The Salvation Army Employment Plus and in the Work Experience Phase of their Employment Pathway Plan. There are many opportunities available to customise work experience activities to make sure they’re right for you. To find out more, talk to your employment consultant about work experience.
Work for the Dole Work for the Dole activities are available with not-for-profit organisations, or with local, state, territory or federal government agencies. A Work for the Dole placement might see you working as part of a team with other job seekers, or as an individual with a host organisation such as a community group or charity. Drought Force Drought Force activities can help you to gain skills and experience by providing assistance to individual farms and farming communities which are severely affected by drought.
