Getting your new job

Most people go through a time of unemployment at some point in their careers. Heading back into the workforce after redundancy, study, health issues or parenting is one of the great challenges that Australians face.

The Salvation Army Employment Plus works with people from all walks of life to help them get through unemployment as quickly as possible. We believe that supporting people as they job-search is important, so we’re here to help as you look for work, find your next job, and to help you fulfill the requirements of government assistance.

We offer:

•    Offices in 117 locations
•    Job-searching facilities – internet access, phones, faxes, newspapers, photocopiers and a job-search database
•    Training and support in areas like resume-writing, interview skills and links to other kinds of training
•    Extensive networks of other organisations which may be able to help you

Depending on the circumstances we can also provide:

•    Consultants to work with and find vacancies for you
•    Funding for training, equipment, transport and clothing to enable you to start work

All our services are free of charge.

If you’d like to know more call one of our friendly consultants on 136123. They can answer any questions you have on eligibility and assistance.

You’re not on your own.

We’ve been privileged to see many people overcome difficult circumstances and know we’ll see many more. Here are just a few of the stories we’ve been privileged to witness.

While The Salvation Army Employment Plus offers assistance to the jobseekers and employers in each office's area, The Salvation Army provides a wide range of other services across the country.

These include support for the homeless, for young people, for families, for people experiencing financial difficulty, emotional distress, domestic violence and the aftermath of disaster.
