Anglicare cleans up with excellent employees

Sunday March 30th 2014

A group of once-unemployed job-seekers, selected by Employment Plus, has celebrated 12 months on the job with Anglicare – to the benefit of all involved.

Anglicare Southern Queensland assists some of the region’s most vulnerable by providing a range of vital health and support services including house cleaning.

“The difference is that through this process we’ve been able to find people who’ve become part of our larger team,” said Sue Montgomery, Community Services Manager for Anglicare Southern Queensland.

“They don’t look at their job as just cleaning – they see it as providing a much needed service and helping someone they care about.

“We’re really happy with the way it’s worked out.”

As part of the Employment Plus service, contact was maintained with the new employees after they started to help them get over any hurdles which might have appeared, like transportation problems or family issues.
