What’s the biggest win you have had working at Employment Plus?


Every day is a win working for Employment Plus, the highs definitely outweigh the lows. The position of Recruiter requires building a rapport with both candidates and employers alike. Successful job matching is based on this knowledge.

I especially love getting out of the office and meeting employers. Yesterday, I visited a state-of-the-art nursery in the Yarra Valley. I had a guided tour around the property in a four-wheel drive and I learnt a lot about horticulture and the plans for this business moving forward. I think I was told some ground breaking and innovative new techniques for this industry – too top secret to share!

I met with the management team and gained a real understanding of the business, the people and their goals for the future. This is the key to finding the right candidate for them. This is a win in my mind, and so is every other opportunity we have to find the best people for the employers in our local area.

What’s the secret to finding an ideal candidate for a new role?

 


The secret to finding the right candidate for a new role is knowing the candidate, having a really good understanding of their goals, skills set, work ethic and personality – just to name a few things!
There is a job out there for everyone and there is an employer that will think they are fantastic.

I reverse marketed a candidate recently to an employer just because I knew his skill set would suit them, his personality would suit them, his age would suit them – and yes – it’s a marriage made in heaven.
You just know it will work when you know your candidate and know your employer

What recruitment tips can you give a business that they may not be taking advantage of?

 


Come to the best – give Employment Plus a go! Perfect job matching – c’est impossible. The best candidate may have to learn some new skills but they need passion, motivation and personality.

What would you tell a business choosing between recruiting with Employment Plus and a competitor?

 


I would encourage employers to understand how the services work with the Salvation Army and Employment Plus. The Salvation Army is a not-for-profit that provides shelter for the homeless, soup kitchens, meals for the hungry, emergency relief etc. They operate tirelessly, efficiently and effectively in our communities.
