What is Ready?
The Salvation Army Employment Plus Ready program, funded by Jobs Victoria, is a voluntary employment service that delivers tailored employment services to people who are at risk of, experiencing, or transitioning out of homelessness, and are ready to prepare for job searching.
Through this service we hope to reduce recurring homelessness and the stresses that this places on individuals, their families and support services.
Our dedicated Jobs Victoria Mentors work closely with participants to ensure the support we offer is fully personalised and relevant to each person’s circumstances and aspirations. Delivered in collaboration with other homelessness services and support agencies, our services address any barriers and ensure coordinated support along the employment journey.
Your personal Employment Mentor will connect with you to discuss your interests, aspirations and future employment opportunities, and help you with job searching and preparing for work. Together you’ll create a personalised plan to help you prepare to enter (or re-enter) the workforce. This may include training, mentoring or access to any other services aligned to your employment goals. Once you have commenced in the new role, we will keep in touch to offer any other assistance we can to support you in settling in and thriving in this new role.
