What is ParentsNext?
ParentsNext is a free pre-employment program helping eligible parents plan and prepare for employment by the time their child goes to school. We work with you at your own pace and really take the time to help you fully explore all your future employment options. From helping you access courses and prospective childcare, to personal goal setting and future planning, we’re 100% there for you throughout this journey.
Employment Plus works with ParentsNext participants in South Australia to help set education and employment goals, develop pathways to achieve them and provide access to services and activities in the local community.
Who is eligible for ParentsNext?
Parents in South Australia are able to access the free program if they currently receive a Centrelink Parenting Payment and meet eligibility criteria, which includes:
- Having no employment earnings during the past six months.
- Having a child aged under six years.
- Residing in South Australia. For other areas, contact Centrelink for information about providers in your area.
